Elegant Themes didn’t quite make it until the GDPR deadline on 25th May 2018. After a short delay of a few hours, however, they finally introduced GDPR compliance for their Divi WordPress theme as well as for the Bloom and Monarch plugins.
They announced custom field integration for the Divi Email Optin Module and for the Bloom email opt-in plugin. Now you are able to add custom input fields for all 20+ email providers. Thus, you can ask for information from your email subscribers when they opt in to your newsletter list. This data can then be used for various purposes including list segmentation, email automation, and recording of GDPR consent. Just think of GDPR consent checkboxes. Legally required, but dead ugly…
Also, their products have been enhanced with extra options to help you to comply with the GDPR and other data privacy regulations. Monarch, a social media sharing plugin, is not sending data to third parties such as Twitter or Facebook for instance. Only after a user clicked on one of the sharing buttons, a connection to social media platforms will be established.
