DigitalOcean just introduced Premium Droplets to their cloud computing platform as well as new regions for the DigitalOcean App Platform.
- New Premium Droplets
With faster Intel and AMD CPUs as well as NVMe SSDs, Premium Droplets offer an easy and cost-effective way to improve application performance. Premium Intel Droplets utilize second generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors which have the so-called Cascade Lake architecture. Premium AMD Droplets currently run second generation EPYC processors, a feature aka the Rome architecture.
- New App Platform Regions
The DigitalOcean App Platform is now available in the BLR (Bangalore, India), SGP (Singapore) and SFO (San Francisco, CA) regions. In addition, it is also available in AMS (Amsterdam, Netherlands), FRA (Frankfurt, Germany), and NYC (New York, NY).
DigitalOcean also launched new preconfigured 1-Click Apps in the marketplace to help you remove the hassle of provisioning servers. This includes WebMaker Server, Kubernetes 1.19, and Budibase. The latter allows you to create internal tools such as dashboards, admin panels, CRMs, approval apps, employee wikis, and more.
